Ashtead recently slipped in spot #4 in the portfolio in terms of weighting, but still represented 15% of the portfolio at yesterday‘s close. I‘m very concentrated generally, which doesn’t fit many people’s personality as it comes with drawbacks too - can be emotionally very challenging. But when a bet works -, seems like we open 60-70% up tomorrow? About 80% jump to the offer price (napkin math) - it actually moves the needle for your portfolio. An 80% move on a 15% position adds 12 percentage points to portfolio performance (0.15 × 80%). The same move on a 2% position adds just 1.6 percentage points (0.02 × 80%). Good day for the portfolio after a couple of rougher days this month.

Grab has yet to break the downtrend. Despite the 2-day low-teen % bounce $GRAB's chart is still sitting comfortably below its long-term downtrend trendline (about another 10% from here). Considering the $900 million buyback the company has in place, and considering the timing of Tan's $30 million bet, chances are we've seen a near term bottom though if you ask me (discl.: I'm long and added at around $3/share). I think that's what the market has figured out too.

Grab is up 9% today $GRAB. I'm assuming the two big insider buys, especially by Anthony Tan (about $30 million), are read favorably by the market. And they should. Insider buys, especially if they are material in size, are one of the strongest signals in all of investing. https://t.co/3EZNgu6yyv
