"No man steps in the same Tesla twice, for it is not the same Tesla and he is not the same man." IMO we are reliving the "but have you ever driven it" cycle with Tesla. In the beginning people who hated on EVs had never even driven one. Now it's for autonomous, but the problem is a bit harder for people to grok because they have driven a Tesla. But they drove it ~2 years ago and don't realize the software quality completely changed in that time frame.
